Petitt
is an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World.
He is the founder and pastor of Miracle Center Apostolic Community
Church. He is a member of the
California District Council and presides over the five churches that make up
the Coastline District #13. He
also serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Council.
He is the Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee of the
California District Council (CDC). He
serves as President and Chairman of the Apostolic Ministers Alliance and the
Second Vice President of the Interdenominational Ministers Alliance of Los
Angeles. His
radio broadcast “Faith For Today” can be heard Monday through Friday 8:00
am. to 8:15 a.m. and at 7:15 p.m. on KTYM 1460 AM dial.
This live broadcast is heard by many listeners each morning over the
past 18 years, the listeners have been greatly blessed by the anointed
messages taught each day, and many have been saved through the broadcast.
Suffragan Bishop Petitt received his AA Degree from West Los Angeles College
and his BA Degree in Psychology from Cal State University, Los Angeles.
He did two years of graduate work towards his Masters of Divinity
Degree at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA, leaving behind a 3.4
G.P.A. in order to focus on pioneering the ministry of Miracle Center.
Suffragan Bishop Petitt was an instructor at Aenon Bible College and
served on the Board of Directors for several years.
In 1988, Suffragan Bishop Petitt was honored to have the Doctorate of
Theology Degree conferred upon him from the Pentecostal Bible College of
Tuskegee, Alabama.
Suffragan Bishop Petitt is very active in the community.
He serves as President and Chairman of several local organizations,
currently serving as President of The Black Agenda, Inc., and President of
the Apostolic Ministerial Alliance of the Greater Los Angeles area.
In June 2006 Suffragan Bishop Roy S. Petitt was appointed by Councilman Herb
Wesson of the 10th Councilmatic District of the City of Los Angeles to serve
as one of the Urban Design Committee Members from the Community on the
Exposition Metro Transit Line.
Also, in June 2006, Suffragan Bishop Petitt was accepted and enrolled in the
“Passing the Mantel Mentoring Program” at USC School of Religion Center for
Religion and Civic Culture. The
Program was organized and is directed by Rev. Dr. Cecil (Chip) Murray, Rev.
Mark Whitlock and Rev. Eugene Williams.
On July 14th, 2006 the California District Council (CDC) Episcopal District
of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc. (PAW) 178th Tri-Annual
Conference, District Elder Roy S. Petitt was elevated, consecrated, and
ordained to Suffragan Bishop by the Diocesan Bishop Henry L. Johnson of the
16th Episcopal District of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World, Inc.
(PAW). Suffragan Bishop Petitt
was assigned to direct the Political and Community Affairs Department in the
State of California as well as other duties to perform in the California
District Conference (CDC). Suffragan Bishop Petitt is a godly, loving patient pastor of the flock that the Lord has entrusted into his care. He is full of wisdom, knowledge and understanding and always goes far and beyond the call of duty. His faithfulness and godliness has been exemplified in every aspect of his life; from the pulpit, in his home and the community. Dr. Petitt is a loving husband of 41 years to his lovely wife First Lady Dr. Bennie R. Petitt and father to two beautiful daughters, Sherika age 20 and Vernice age 19. Suffragan Bishop Petitt is also the doting grandfather of 3 beautiful grandchildren, 16 month old, Dino “DJ” Wallace Jr., 4 month old, Serenity Wallace, and 15 month old, Aaliyah Renee Terrell.
